Title Suggestions

I’m about two thirds of the way finished with my current elephant drawing. I’ve been rather distracted by life since starting this piece so I wasn’t quite sure how this was going to turn out but so far, it seems to be coming along this fine.

This past week I had my 46th birthday and for the first time I felt that creeping, gnawing sensation that I’m getting closer to 50 and time is slipping away from me. Mentally I don’t feel “old” but physically I’m reminded whenever I do a session of kickboxing.

Anyhoo, I’ve been at a loss as to what to title my current piece, so I’m turning to you lovely followers for suggestions. What do you think would be a good title for this piece? Feel free to leave your ideas and suggestions in the comments. ☺

  1. The fifties are a fun decade..you’ll still be kickboxing. The first themes for titles that popped into my head are protect me, preserve and respect. I love elephants and your work is wonderful.

  2. I think she looks like a teenager. Perhaps she could have the name of a princess?

(PS: I’m nearing 50 too! When I was 46 I began to feel old, in numbers rather than spirit, with same creeping gnawing sensation you described. However, now I’m closer to 50 it feels OK. In the last couple of years I’ve begun to find a little wisdom to make better choices day to day and feel happier. I see this as a lovely compensation for the loss of my youth. 🙂

    1. I think the gaining of wisdom is a good trade off. I’ve noticed that I’m not as hurried or running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off, like in my younger years. 😉

  3. I’m showing my age but “Maya” comes to mind. Old tv show starring Raji Khan I also think of the elephant sancuary in Tennessee. And how matriarchal they are….
