“We tend to greet hardship as an obstacle to overcome rather than as a path to peace.”
This past week has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. From deals falling through to the passing of a close friend due to a massive heart attack (he was only 38). I’ve been struggling to make sense of what feels like a senseless world. So much seems backwards in life and so many questions are left unanswered. The insightful Zen influenced words of Robert Rosenbaum on the Tao Te Ching has been my only solace, steering me back to the path of peace when at times it feels like I’m about to go over a cliff.

2015 was a great year for doing more lino carvings and experimenting with larger sizes and a few other mediums. Some of my works turned out pretty well and subsequently was snatched up by a few lovely people. Now that it’s 2016 I plan to focus more on my first love, drawing and stippling, with the hopes of creating some amazing pieces. I’ll still be doing lino carvings here and there but I really tend to put more focus on honing my craft in stippling this year. So here’s to new adventures and new works of pen and ink mastery

Toppa Shroom – I have this thing for mushrooms…and frogs, foxes, acorns, bubbles, sun rays, lotus, koi, afros, buddhas and butterflies…which pop up in my work quite often. So don’t be alarmed, it’s a thing of mine.
