“Maybe…I’ll forget you some other time.” ~ Alina Baraz
It’s on to another project. This time I’m feeling a bit more ambitious and got myself prepped to work on a 9×12 piece that will involve peacocks. Yes, peacocks. Honestly, I don’t know why peacocks came to mind, it just hit me last night and has stuck with me ever since, so peacocks it is. I’ve been doing a little research and apparently in Chinese culture, peacocks symbolize beauty, divinity and power. It was the symbol of the Ming Dynasty and is also associated with the goddess Guan Yin, which I have a little statue of on my bookshelf. Maybe She imprinted the image in my mind to tell me something. 😊
Anyhoo, I haven’t figured out the base drawing yet but I’m sure it will involve A LOT of details and feathers. This drawing will definitely take a minute to complete. But before I get to scribbling any ideas, I’m ’bout due for a nap. It’s been a challenging day with computer software crashing, printers acting crazy, burning up hotdogs and dipping a little too low on the “Snake Creeps Through Grass” movement during Tai Chi so now I’m walking funny. But I did manage to put together a short promo clip for my drawing “Maybe”. Be sure to check it out below.
