Colorful Plumage

So I’m up and going with a new piece. While I was working on Goldfish, I had it already set in my mind that my next drawing would be a Macaw parrot. I like Macaws for their bright and colorful plumage and because of that I will probably add in a splash of color to set this piece off from my usual inking in all black. I did a little research on these beautiful creatures and discovered that they can live up to 50 years of age. I’ve been a cat owner for all my life, so I’m more accustomed to animals living up to possibly 20 years but no more, so reading about the Macaws longevity was a bit amazing to me. If I was into owning birds as a pet, I would probably get one. But although I like birds, I just don’t feel quite comfortable with owning one. Some animals I just feel are more beautiful when they are free. 😊
